Biography
Projects have been featured in various publications and exhibitions, from Derby Quad (2022), to PH Museum's very first mobile photography book (2019) to B-Part in Berlin (2025). I was recently commissioned by Welcome to Wandsworth to share BHAM💥 as a live event. Published writing includes Kitsch, the apparatus and a dead theorist for Technoetic Arts and Shifting Power (2025/6), a mediation on cultural material feedback loops within and through the technical image. Beyond Romanticism. Relationship Advice for the Now in Source (2023), asks readers to consider how they value their relationship with different forms of technology, while Prompt Engineer for Lexiconia Art (2024) ponders the deep and entangled etymology of the phrase. In 2025, an AI image informed by a doodle on my Notes app was included in Prompt Magazine (2025) and at an associated conference in Milan. In November 2025, Kim Shaw (curator) and I (co-producer), along with 13 international artists, launched The Doughnut(W)Hole, a pavilion for The Wrong Biennale, a global, decentralised art event.
After completing a degree in Acting from Manchester Metropolitan University in 1994, I worked as an actor, marketed financial retail products, and taught drama in Further Education colleges. Everything changed again in 2013 when I began a short photography course. Since then, I have increasingly focused on contemporary art and creative research, recently graduating with Distinction from Central Saint Martins (University of the Arts London) with an MA in Contemporary Photography. Before that, I obtained a First Class Degree in Photography from The Open College of the Arts (OCA).
